I was thinking this morning that we really should have a thread of food pics. We now have a brag thread of what we are making, but everyone loves pictures - right? I'm thinking just pics and descriptions. Let's see that plating! Merged on July 01 2012 09:20:23: We didn't really cook anything interesting this weekend since we had a BBQ to attend, so to get this thread going I will repost an old, interesting pic from one of my favorite threads on a .ahem. different forum. This was from bladeforums last year in the epic 'Hawk and Sandwich Combos" thread. I couldn't let a new thread go without a pic so here we are: So here we have red leaf butter lettuce, prosciutto, pepperoni, aged provolone and stone ground mustard drizzled with olive oil on a crusty roll. (Beer was not a top choice but hurricane Irene destroyed out BBQ so I had a case) Edited by jkoll42 on 07/01/2012 10:20 AM -Jon

I love food porn. Here is a snapshot of some succulent ribs I made a short time ago along with the BBQ ablaze. Enjoy! Len "If this is coffee, please bring me some tea but if this is tea, please bring me some coffee." ~Abraham Lincoln

The firebox was an old small woodstove insert I found on the side of the road, believe it or not. I cut the shield off the back that usually is flush with your fireplace opening. Len "If this is coffee, please bring me some tea but if this is tea, please bring me some coffee." ~Abraham Lincoln

drool - I love food porn! We're going to be developing some new burger recipes for the bar we hang out at so I'll post pics of the results. Thanks for starting this topic! Merged on July 02 2012 21:57:32: This was tonight's dessert. Melon, prosciutto, aged provolone, and blueberries with a glass of limoncello. One of my favorites is just warmed up pulled pork on a cheap hamburger bun with habanero and red hot sauce on top. For variations I have an egg with slice of cheese on top also. GOD ITS GOOD! Quote Those are some nice fat wings. Do yo have a spicy rub on them? Len Hi Len I used parts of this recipe - http://www.kalofa...-kalofaga/ However I removed the all spice and the cinnamon an increased to 1 cup of lemon + zest Basted at intervals as required KK I home roast and I like it. I see that it has thyme in it. Thyme and chicken sure go together well. We use it in our chicken soup always. Last night we pulled out a pork tenderloin, stuck it in a baggie with coarse mustard, fresh-squeezed lime juice, and lots of garlic. Let it get friendly then tossed it in the oven. When it was done, BF took the pan, deglazed with balsamic and reduced to a nice redish sauce. |
