But wait... do I need to unlearn ?

So - after I roast my beans and let them cool I put them in a nice zip lock bag with a one way valve..

Then after a few hours I squeeze the bag and dig the aroma escaping the valve...
I may even give it the ole Charmin-Squeeze the next day as well as more CO2 has built up.

But wait - Holy-Bat-Coffee - is this incorrect?...

Should I let the coffee just set there and accumulate in its own CO2 and swirl in the gasses ???
Or is squeezing correct??
It's bad luck to be superstitious

Squeezing is correct under certain circumstances. Only if new enough to ensure more CO2 will be emitted by the coffee and not let in ambient air. You'll have to ask Mr. Whipple when that time comes about.

Thanks - whew - (wipes brow)...
Yea I end up squeezing several time as the gas continues to release and
keep the bag sealed tight and squeezed at all times pushing out air after I grind some of the beans daily.

Mr. Whipple would be proud -
