So, over the last couple of weeks I've found myself on the road without my travel kit, and have ended up at Starbucks because there were no alternatives in the particular areas of God's country I sometimes find myself in.

I've tried a couple of their blends and have found them to actually be decent.

Does this make me a bad person?Frown

I've been told I shouldn't associate with you but I will anyway.Wink

I've also been in desperate situations requiring a cup of Starbucks in the past and on a couple of occasions I was quite impressed with finding floral and berry notes and not just bottom-end from too dark of a roast.

This was after they lightened up the roasts a tad. Before that happened it was all bottom with no mid or high notes. I hear they still buy primarily top grade beans.

Now don't make a habit of drinking their coffee!

Don't worry Jimbo.....you aren't a bad person but rather an honest one.

I have to admit to craving, once in a blue moon, one of their horrible over milky concoctions masquerading as lattés. Although this urge strikes only a few times a year I have thought about seeking professional help LOL. I usually just give in and go get one....and then about half way through the cup I think 'what the heck was I THINKING?!?!?'.

Now as far as their regular coffees...YECK. Never had one I could stand...all of them seem super burnt and bitter.

So you just fine just as long as you follow Allen's suggestion of not making it a habit.

Jimbo:

Not to fear, "bad coffee is universal" and yet you are surprised at times and NO this does not make you a bad person. I would say that you wasted serious coin on the Starbucks when you could have hit the local (read they call me the "Queen of 7-11".)

Much better coffee. If the town has a Starbucks there must be a 7/11...

When I hit California on 101 thru Pasadena there is typically a Starbucks within a few doors/pumps of a 7/11 and if those coffee jocks/jockettes are on their toes at 4am you will be surprised by the 7/11 "dark, camel rocketed to planet 7/11 coffee!)

Chad, you can be still for a few minutes. Comment later!!!!

hahahahha
