I have been trying Scott Rao Hario V60 pourover this week. 1:17 and blooming with 2 parts water the first 45 seconds then splitting the rest into 2 pours. A little stirring is included. We like it.

My brew ratio is 1:17 (exactly 59.5 g/L). That's roughly 8.5g per 5-oz cup.

I'm looking to hire someone to teach/help me to find the best roast profile for the 3 types of coffee that grow on my farm in nicaragua. I live in LA, but but could go anywhere in so cal with my Behmor for a roasting lesson. Please contact me if you're in

When your wife thinks 30 grams for a 6 cup setting is strong, you learn to drink muddy water when you are making coffee for both of you.

I use a rule of thumb of 60 grams per liter. 8 cups (1 liter, 32 oz) = 60 grams, 6 cups (3/4 liter, 24 oz) = 45 grams. 10 cups = 75 grams 12 cups = 90 grams

Shock Your mad skills are showing!

Making some progress, built the wood base and have been working out the remaining functional details.

The motor/vacuum/flame controls will be mounted on the aluminum plate seen on the back corner. Should leave plenty of room for a PID later on...

Still needs the ducting to allow a shop vac to pull air through the cooling tray, and a few other minor bits a pieces before its ready to go.

Barring anything to break the momentum, it will be roasting by Halloween! Grin
wood looks very nice, what type?

Western red cedar - happened to have a wide board left over from my last canoe building project. Perhaps a bit soft for such an application, but it will take on a "patina" more quickly than most hardwoods... ;)
fantastic job, now .....lets see the shop. ;)

Beautiful work! I think I can see one of these on the counter of a home in "Lives of the rich and famous" in the near future.

Any updates?
This is a very cool roaster and I'd like to see the results :)
Wow, simply wow..... stunning work. More pictures please!

No updates yet... :@

Now that its warming up un the evenings I will be more inclined to work on it again!

Have a new, smaller drum to fit, which will neccessitate an additonal baffle inside the drum housing to reduce empty space. Still on the fence with what type of heat source to use; have both 10k btu burner and nichrome...

Stay tuned!
