Hi All, I wanted to see if anyone on homeroasters.org was planning to attend the SCAA conference. Here is the link: http://www.scaaexposition.org/default.aspx I had a great time last year in the Twin Cities (got to meet BoldJava in person, also Curly, 7Over, Pyment and Monito from GreenCoffeeBuyingClub - are you guys on homeroasters.org too?). I thought I'd also shout-out at a few of the other sites and see who might attend. If you are attending give me a shout - I'd love to meet you! Woody Wiginton (FinerGrind on most sites) |

Woody, I may be coming to the event? I'm heading to Atlanta tomorrow for a short business (church) trip and out of the country next week. If my schedule allows I'll be heading that way in April. I too am on GCBC also! ;) jspain Let me know what gets set up to cup and chat in Atlanta! Jim "How we treat our children determines who we are!"

Still working on the Mrs., though I'm taking the solo trip route if she's unwilling to travel.

Are non-members welcome? Funds are tight right now, but I could drive over from Alabama. Any recommendations? Which day/evening/event might be most worthwhile for a fellow homeroaster? thanks! -bill |

I had communicated via email with them and they said, sure, homeroasters welcome, just don't publicize it all over the boards. http://www.scaaex...Badge.aspx Volunteer time and you earn $ credit: http://www.scaaex...teers.aspx I just walked the floor (no courses) -- $40 --, met fellow homeroasters for meals and the obligatory cups of brown. It was a delight to meet others with whom I had only internet connection. Spent some time with getting to know folks -- good crew. I walked away impressed with the entirety of the industry; from growers to greens importers, from packagers to retailers, from bags to roasters. Great experience for a day. Walked away with great relationships with quality gents from our internet boards. B|Java Edited by BoldJava on 02/18/2009 6:50 AM |
