I'm thinking it might be better suited for coffee beverages rather than a straight shot. It seems extraction would be prolonged with an extended pre-infusion stage as the steam/hot water makes its way through the grounds. Next question - If the water in the boiler is just enough for two perfect cups of coffee, where does the steam come from? Nah, I don't want one. Respect the bean. However, $400 is getting close enough to a Silvia which can be fitted with a PID to make good espresso every shot... Pretty alone doesn't cut it, IMO. -Marshall Hance Asheville, NC
