Thanks for the addition to the group. Seriously considering building a drum roaster along the lines of oldgrumpus's. Love the design and craftsmanship.

Cup of Excellence 2009
First country auction, Colombia, is Thursday, April 23. I've got samples roasted and resting for cuppings this evening and tomorrow evening. If you are anywhere near Alexandria, VA, and would like to participate, drop me a line.

Just flew in to Kansas City for a three day seminar and won't get back home until Friday. I believe I'm only about 7 hours from you from east central Ohio. Obviously I won't be making this cupping, but looking forward to another time to cup in Va. "down the road."

Looking forward to the results! Hope there is a good one that comes in at a reasonable $. If so, count me in! Jim

I'd very much enjoy tasting some great coffee and also tuning up my taste buds against your considerable experience. My tongue has a lot to learn. I think I could make either evening. PM sent.

Thanks for the invite!

He better save room (enough palate) for 7 Hawaiians (45g each) I have in a package for him. The boy is a regular cupping machine.

Wow--these are excellent coffees, no doubt. Saving top ten for tomorrow. I finished 11-20 and will likely hit 21-25 tonight, too. Can't say I've got them zero'ed perfectly, but I am getting differences in the cups even though I get strong classic cup profiles in 9 out of 10 easily (a good thing in my book).
