I have been trying Scott Rao Hario V60 pourover this week. 1:17 and blooming with 2 parts water the first 45 seconds then splitting the rest into 2 pours. A little stirring is included. We like it.

My brew ratio is 1:17 (exactly 59.5 g/L). That's roughly 8.5g per 5-oz cup.

I'm looking to hire someone to teach/help me to find the best roast profile for the 3 types of coffee that grow on my farm in nicaragua. I live in LA, but but could go anywhere in so cal with my Behmor for a roasting lesson. Please contact me if you're in

When your wife thinks 30 grams for a 6 cup setting is strong, you learn to drink muddy water when you are making coffee for both of you.

I use a rule of thumb of 60 grams per liter. 8 cups (1 liter, 32 oz) = 60 grams, 6 cups (3/4 liter, 24 oz) = 45 grams. 10 cups = 75 grams 12 cups = 90 grams

A compact Air Roaster
Koffee Kosmo
Came across this roaster & wanted to share

Rair Systems Inc., Northbrook, Ill., introduces the Aerabica 2000R, a patented, countertop air roaster for conveniently converting green coffee into fresh coffee in small batches without expensive installations, operating costs.

The Aerabica 2000R requires only 120-volt service and no exhaust system

This is all I can find out about it in my internet searches that was prompted by this photo

Just thought I would post it up for discussion and to see if my US Home Roaster friends could shed some more light on its inner workings, bean roasting capacity & price range ?

Have a look at US patent 5,193,444

Brainiac attached the following image:
"The machine is only about 14" wide and about the same size as a microwave oven. It plugs directly into a standard electrical outlet, and with the attachment of a dryer-type exhaust hose, you're ready to roast. Batch size of the Aerabica is 1 lb. to 3.5 lbs., with roasting times varying from 9 minutes to 26. The machine can roast up to 10 pounds per hour.

The beans are roasted in a stainless steelstainless steel. drum which has a built-in chaff collector. Hot air is circulated through the drum while it revolves, by a 2000 watt electric heater. There is a small door built into the machine so coffee can be checked for color."

Excellent find. Too bad the info is so sketchy - wonder if it's actually in production? Found a few references to sales on eBay.

It's pretty much what I wanted to build. Think: 3.5lbs roasted on a 2000W element? I'd love to know how that's possible! Especially when the patent repeatedly suggests the operating temperature won't go over 500F.
