Thanks for the responses. That is most likely the problem. I have my hg mounted almost vertical above the beans. I have already ordered one from harbor freights. I need to figure out a way to mount the hg so that it doesn't overheat. Maybe I will try bills set-up. |

You can get some flexible aluminum tubing at an auto supply store and use a worm drive hose clamp to secure it to the end of your heat gun. That will get your HG back away from the roast. I put about a 6" long piece of 1 1/2" diameter tubing on the end of mine. It's called heat riser tubing. On the Harbor Freight Orange colored HG's you can remove the screw from the bottom of the Grey nosepiece and remove it giving you plenty of room to fasten the tubing. ![]() Pete
