When your wife thinks 30 grams for a 6 cup setting is strong, you learn to drink muddy water when you are making coffee for both of you.

I use a rule of thumb of 60 grams per liter. 8 cups (1 liter, 32 oz) = 60 grams, 6 cups (3/4 liter, 24 oz) = 45 grams. 10 cups = 75 grams 12 cups = 90 grams

OldMan41, depends what is "a pot"... usually is more accurate to specify the brew ratio, instead grams of coffee. The most usual is 1:15, thus 40 grams for 600 ml of water. If the 100 grams are for one liter pot, then we are talking about 1:10 ratio.

Administrator Posts: 2221 Joined: January 09, 2008	This should prove to be an interesting and informative forum. However, I'd like to cast a caution to everyone. Profiling is roaster specific. In other words, one's Poppery I is not going to roast the same as a Behmor. A Ron Kyle drum will not roast the same as a Gene Cafe. And so on. There are many roasters here, both purpose built and shop built and our combined experiences should lead to better coffee in everyone's cups. The times we post here as specifics may not apply so well for another roaster, however they can all serve as guidelines. Feel free to start a thread for a specific machine and discuss, discuss, discuss. Everyone's input is welcome regardless of the roaster they may use. And have FUN!
