We'll pick back up, no big deal. It was primarily a discussion about open-source, and how that might apply to building machines vs. software. I was curious because of the implications it might have for doing a group build here at HRO. After I spent a few months trying to figure that out, Dan mentioned the Arduino Company. As it turns out, they had already climbed that hill, and had a great business model. Something that allowed for commercial enterprise, and the rapid innovation that open source sets the stage for. ....All at the same time. That's fairly new and innovative stuff. Here's an article that explains it better than me; http://www.wired....ntPage=all ....And here's another valuable tool; http://creativeco... And Sean had started a mindmap; http://www.mindme...w/79366341 If there are any points I missed, please toss them in! Cheers, -Scott Edited by JETROASTER on 02/01/2011 12:33 PM |
