hi guys interesting reading regarding lever machines. for what its worth I have an Elektra micro casa-lever machine. works really well for the two of us(me my wife) it pulls a good shot and is reliable simple and easy to clean and maintain. the group head is smaller than most and I had to custom make a stainless tamper but overall very happy, I purchased it from coffeeitallia.com $1390 australian, at the same time they where for sale in a handful of retail stores at $2100. regards mark |

The MCal developed a very low rate leak. Posted the details over at home barista.com. The simple to maintain and availability of parts add to the value of this machine. Strongly recommend the MCal. If you can find an old machine to refurbish or afford a new one go for it. After +1500 cycles of use over the past decade the maintenance costs and time have been significantly less than the HX/E61 vibe pump. Very happy with 3 of the 5 shots pulled this 1st day of '15. Happy Roasting this new year to everyone. Operatore>Macina>Acqua>Miscela>Macchina

It is interesting to see that there has been no discussion of Lever machines since 2015!! I switched from a LaMarzocco GS/3 MP to a Londinium spring lever in 2012 and then upgraded to a Londinium L1-p (now called an L1) and the shots are better. The temperature management is still the same and a bit more difficult than the LaMarzocco but the line fed cold HX Lever is so simple that it will probably outlast me. If you PM me with an email address I will send photos since I do not keep photos in one of the online services. Only Vimeo and YouTube. L-1p, HG-1-motorized, Monolith Flat, (ordered) mini500Plus.
If whatever you do does not put a smile on your face then rethink what you are doing. |
