Why is the Poppery I preferred?
brennn
I read in the past that the Poppery I is preferred over the Poppery II in regards to the power rating of each of these poppers.

Can someone explain why? What are the limitations of the Poppery II compared to the Poppery I?

Thanks!

I don't know about the power rating but I have heard that the Poppery I is a very rugged unit compared to the Poppery II. Maybe someone else can add to this.

Poppery I does not have the internal transformer. (I think) so it has a 120 v heater and fan.
If memory serves, I is 1500w II is 1200w or 1250w.
I has a switch to turn it on, I don't think the II has a switch.

I hope I am correct,

Agree with snwcmpr..... 120V fan and 1500 watts (vs PII 1200) are the main things.... The 120V AC fan (vs PII rectified DC fan) makes it much easier to separate the heater element from the fan circuit....

You can see some of the detail necessary to mod the PII here:

If I am looking to pair the Poppery with an Arduino TC4, which one of the two do you think is better suited? Or are both adequate, provided that I make the necessary modifications to the Poppery II?

I can't help you there. Hopefully someone will reply that actually knows.
