Controlling the HT with Artisan.
Barrie
Version 7.0 of Artisan is now available for download (free) and there is an 11-page beginners? guide available here in the Downloads section. It is entitled ?Controlling a Hottop Roaster with Artisan: The basics,? and was written after participating in the beta testing of the Windows version. It is not intended as a complete manual but should be enough to get someone completely new to this software up and running. I am told that it is also applicable to Mac and Linux operating systems, but have not tested that myself.
Membership in HRO is a requirement to download this. If you are a member, click on the following to view the download site.

EDIT: Link to new version V2.0 added 12/20/13

I would be interested in any comments in general about the use of Artisan with the HT, and/or suggestions for improvement in the guide.

Thanks, Ginny. Approval is always appreciated. ThumbsUp

I should have added that, for anyone with a Mac who cannot open a docx file, I have a pdf version. The resolution is not quite as good but it is quite readable. Just send me a PM with your email address.

Version 3.0 has replaced this in the download section, and is also available as a pdf file on the Artisan website along with JackH's sketch installation instructions.

The title of the guide is the same - Controlling a Hottop Roaster with Artisan: the Basics - and the content and applicability are essentially unchanged. This is an edit rather than a change in direction. The majority has remained unchanged from v.1. It is written for a Windows platform but the developer tells me it is applicable to Mac and Linux users. Artisan itself is applicable to a variety of hardware platforms but this focusses in particular on the Hottop. Those using other roasters may find several parts of it useful to them, but will have to pick their way through it.

so this has NOTHING to do with the artisan but simply what you wrote?

yes?

thanks, it is important that members know.

To the extent that what I wrote is all about the use of Artisan, that is not entirely correct. There is of course a new version of Artisan: 7.2, as of a day or two ago, but that is another issue. My guide applies to it just as well as to previous versions of Artisan.
