Colombia Familia Guerra - La Gallineta
allenb
5 lbs of Colombia Familia Guerra - La Gallineta arrived on my doorstep today from Sweet Marias. I was hesitant to go for a Columbian after a couple of ok Colombian greens in the past but after reading SM's write up I decided to give it a go

I roasted a 2 oz batch in the ceramic roaster and cupped immediately after and all I can say is wow! This is one of the few coffees of late that cupped almost exactly as written up in Tom's cupping notes. I would highly suggest anyone wanting what tastes to me like a 90+ coffee at mid-80's pricing to grab some before it sells out.

Are you going to try this out in your drum roaster Allen?

I'm glad you got some good coffee from SM this time around!

Yes, probably tomorrow afternoon. I'm hoping I can bring out the interesting notes and complexity in the drum as I did with the ceramic. If not, I'm going to be searching for a ceramic capable of a half lb charge! Of course I'll have to find some mechanical means of shaking it so my arm doesn't cramp.
Yeah, I'm really glad to find one that cups out great. It revitalizes you when you experience a remarkable cup after some so-so ones!
