I'm looking for input from others peoples experience with 1kg Drum roasters.Who is the better manufacturer and what models would suit a home roasting setup.I use popcorn poppers right now poppery 1s but demand for coffee from friends and coworkers makes it a lot of work.i still want to roast great coffee with lots of control I like to use roster logger and track my temp curve..thanks for any input or advice.

If you are mechanically inclined and do not mind buying used, there are always those who need to move up in capacity (like yourself) who are moving away from smaller roasters to larger ones.

You can get a better quality used roaster for around the cost of a new lesser quality one.

The North TJ067 (Gas) is a good choice. The TJ-067 is also available as an electric. It and the rest of North's lineup are imported to the US and sold by Mill City, which means that it's as easy to order as a roaster made in the US and extremely well supported.

I really like my USRC 1lb (500g) Sample Roaster; but it's (a) smaller than what you say you're looking for; and (b) comparatively expensive. Still... Highly Recommended.

interesting how so many want to add the TJ-067 to this thread...

I deleted one just yesterday as it appeared to be an ad for Mill City...
