been long time in the bushes, happy to become a member, used to have other hobbies but roasting taken over, for over a year now full modded popper, now just had a go at a KKTO type of roaster with what i had, no pic's as your be sniggering all day at the heath robinson build consisting of steel, alloy, and half a flower-pot to get 8 LT volume, well 1st 200g Smoke & Cinders (fail)
2nd roast 200g brazil's throttling the heat control for 12min med/roast,
totally amazed, even colour, no tipping,cut bean with razor perfect throughout,
tried on day 4 from roast, wonderful, so a big thank you to kkto, and other member of the thread.

is 15% weight loss acceptable for brazils with turbo-oven. john

Please post photos of your KKTO. No one here will make fun of it.

I have another version of the KKTO that uses stainless steel cooking pots. It is a great design. 600g is what I usually roast.

I am no expert but from what I have read, the Brazil is a softer bean and has a higher moisture content.

It requires a gentle, longer drying time before first crack. One of my favorites and I find it a challenge to roast properly. the flavor usually comes out too nutty for me.

thank's for welcome, good fun making the kkto type, must have spent 2days making the aggitater with springs work well for 200gm. plus lots of tweaking.
