Air Popper sizes
OldGrampa
I'd like to get advice on air poppers
What I'm after is the length of the throat of the popper.
I've tried a Presto Hot Air Popper that has about a 5" high throat,
and wondered if there might be machines out there,
that have a higher throat ( like 6 or more inches).

Thanks for any comments.

Are you looking to keep the coffee beans from jumping out of the top of the popper?

Some modifications I have seen with the air poppers utilize a glass oil lamp chimney, or a tinned tomato can (or other can of the proper diameter & height), or a piece of thin sheet metal formed into a tube(like a couple soda pop can sidewalls riveted together to form the proper diameter).

Sorry if this isn't what your looking for.... cross fingers

there is a huge thread on the SM forum about using a metal flour sifter as a chamber on an air popper.

Could you give me a link to the SM forum?
