I'm considering a new roaster build, but I'm wondering if anyone is willing to contribute to the cause. For example, would anyone be interested in sharing drawings/files for laser cutting a small drum roaster? Or, maybe someone can help with drawings from design sketches. In return, I can do lots of stuff to help with controls, trouble shoot, source parts, and the like. Maybe others are interested in working from a common base design. Let me know what you think. John Quest M3 w/ Artisan via ESP32 emulating TC4. Previous roasters include: IMEX digirosto 1500, various popcorn popper roasters, and Behmor. Espresso: Quick Mill Vetrano; previous espresso PIDed Rancilio Silvia. Also Chemex, Hario, and Melitta drip; Cory and Yama vacuum/siphon; bodum French press; aeropress; Mazzer Major, Hario mini, and PeDe Dienes grinders.

Hi John, hopefully someone with less crude design/construction habits than me will be able to answer your request. My drawings for my drum roaster were on scrap pieces of paper and got tossed in the can afterward so I would be of little help. Outside of that, I'm willing to pitch in with others here at HRO with any help I can be. Allen 1/2 lb and 1 lb drum, Siemens Sirocco fluidbed, presspot, chemex, cajun biggin brewer from the backwoods of Louisiana

I'll be happy to share my drawings which I am doing at the moment. Refer http://forum.home...ad_id=4802 Currently doing 3D in Sketchup which I'll then transpose to Visio 2D. Visio allows you to export to autocad which most engineering shops/cutters can then work with. |

Derek, Thanks for for your offer. I for one would love to have access to them. I'm wondering if you could give access here -- maybe in the download section. Allen, I know that you're a big help here. Thanks for your offer to help with another design. Seeing Derek's offer to John to share plans on his drum roaster design reminds me what an amazing group we've got here at HRO. I've never seen a group so willing to lend a hand and share with others what would normally only be parted with at a price. Great to have members like you! As promised I've shared my design file in the 3D Warehouse for anyone who wants to take a look or hack it around. https://3dwarehou...a838240576 Right now it's just a nice pretty 3D model. From this someone could start (spose I will be shortly) drafting 2D patterns in order to get steel cut. |

When I got stuck on the electrics with my SF-1 and Coffee PER told me "we know nothing and can't help" a long time HRO member who was an electrical engineer contacted me directly and worked through what needed to be done to get it to work. Without their help I never would have gotten my head around how to design what I needed as everything I "tried" failed. .
