My vote is to have them prepare it for propane as you will not know what that entails in DIY time/$ until you could see it in person. You'll also need to tell them what pressure range you'll be sending it to make sure the orifices are sized right. Allen 1/2 lb and 1 lb drum, Siemens Sirocco fluidbed, presspot, chemex, cajun biggin brewer from the backwoods of Louisiana

Administrator Posts: 3650 Joined: February 23, 2010	If you don't specify what pressure propane you'll be using with the burner they will more than likely have it set to work with low pressure (7-15" water column) which should be fine as long as you're good with using something like the Maxitrol Selectra valves which are great valves. OTOH, if you end up wanting to use a needle valve or proportional solenoid then you'll have to order additional jets with smaller orifices which may be available here in the states unless they're a non-standard design. I would ask them if the jets are typical standard issue or not. Allen 1/2 lb and 1 lb drum, Siemens Sirocco fluidbed, presspot, chemex, cajun biggin brewer from the backwoods of Louisiana

I should have written 1 to 11" water column if they're setting it up for low pressure propane. She said that is the probat style. nat gas injectors ?1.25 - pressure at the injector 4" - 11,2kW=42.330Btu LPG G31 injectors ?0,77 - pressure at the injector 10,5" - 10,2kW=38.560Btu They said that I will need the regulator valve. staticnetwork attached the following image:

I steered away from these NP burners on account of their total overall height vs a tubular burner, and also the BTU output was excessive. 20K BTU is going to be more than enough for a circa 2KG roaster ?

Newbie Posts: 28 Joined: February 03, 2016	I'm having my machine shop craft the parts now. It's been a while... He is planning on using a .25" thick pipe that is 10 3/4" in diameter and will be 14" long for the drum. My concern is that the burner I have is only 6" long and has about 100 orifices and it will not be long enough for an even roast. I'm thinking about putting a sheet of metal between the drum and the burner OR making my own 14" tube burners. What do you all think?
