need brewer for drip mostly
ginny
Ah yes, I gave mine away last year as I drink 99% espresso using my Miele 5K which I got to replace my Solis 5K that died after 10 years.

I also use my

https://www.whole...fgod7r0CcA

I use an AeroPress or my Espro Stainless Steel Travel Press on the road.

Wish I still had the Tech to gift away.

Awesome brewer.

wish I could afford to give everyone the best coffee stuff but it is still a matter of personal choice for the coffee drinker so I decided to upgrade in stages to see if they noticed a difference.

seems they did as comments were made like are these our regular beans, no they are fresh roasted...

so in a mr coffee it was noticed,

now on with the upgrade.

thanks for your support.

Are any of these better than a French Press?

I've found that there is nothing that is "better" in the world of coffee

Only "different".

I can take the same beans, round in the same grinder at the same setting, and brew coffee using a cone filter (Hario V60 or Chemex), flat bottom folded wall filter (Bunn or Kalita wave) or a modified cone (Melitta) and the taste of the brewed coffee will be completely different.

I've even had people argue with me that "it must be different coffee as it taste so differently"

Different is the operative word.

Better as a judgement statement (is a Porsche better than a Ferrari? depends on who you ask)

I agree with what you said and I would love to try other brewers. I am afraid that if I try the Tech it "may" be no better than the French Press. A $300 lesson!

if you like what you have, why change?

OK turtle, you win. Grin
Actually, since I brew 20 oz in the morning I do have a question re: the TV KBT 741. Some say that I can move the slider to 1/2 on the basket and that is what you do for 1/2 a pot. Others say that TV should only be used with a full pot, as it wants 5 to 6 minutes to brew. A half pot will not take this much time. So, I wonder what is correct. The web is full of people who say they never brew a full pot and it is still great.

Just go by what taste good to you.

I have to laugh sometimes at the descriptions of some coffees (blueberries,, chocolate, and tuna)...

It just taste like coffee to me.

I can say that I do taste a difference with coffee brewed using different types of filters that are used.

The same coffee ground the same but made in a cone, modified cone, or flat bottom filter will taste completely different to me

BUT...

It still tastes like coffee, just different tasting coffee

Both are pretty nice. It is a coin toss.

If you use good fresh coffee you can't go wrong with either choice

...and I do have the choice of just keeping the French Press that I have been using for years. The TV and Bonavita are expensive for a kind of pourover system!
My coffee is fresh as I roast it myself.
