I had a crazy idea that the blades from a lawnmower (the type called a "reel mower") might be usefull for shuffling the beans back and forth in a drum roaster. This type of mower typically comes with an approximate cutting width of 20". I'd love to hear what y'all think of this. I'm considering it for the vanes that will move the beans toward the back of the drum...

Make sure you remove any stuck on lawn clippings prior to a roasting or your cup may have some "grassy notes".

I think it's a great idea and should work fine.

Len, there's more potential negatives than just the dreaded grassy notes. Clay clods left on the blades can produce extreme earthy notes as well!
