Bounce house blower for bean cooler?

Newbie Posts: 21 Joined: June 27, 2014	Has anybody used a bounce house blower for a bean cooler? I roast 10lb batches and have a 24"x18" cooling tray that sits in a wooden box. I currently have a large bathroom exhaust fan that moves about 200 CFM. This setup worked pretty good until it started getting hot this summer. I found some used bounce house blowers that move 350 CFM that are pretty cheap. I was also considering a leaf blower, but I don't think they handle pressure as well and they a pretty loud too. Administrator Posts: 1620 Joined: December 31, 2008	That is overkill I would recommend a 12 volt raidiator fan They can handle the heat as they are normally bolted onto the radiator and operate in a heated engine compartment Sometimes they are also available with metal blades You can also use two fans in tandem KK I home roast and I like it. Newbie Posts: 21 Joined: June 27, 2014	I looked into radiator fans... They move more CFM, but cand they handle sucking through the bean mass? Also, converting 120v AC to 12v DC gives me a little worries.

You will find that those fans are capable and are able to handle up to 24 Volts So a high amp 5 + computer power supply may be the ticket KK I home roast and I like it. Newbie Posts: 21 Joined: June 27, 2014	Thanks KK, I found a 9 inch radiator fan on ebay for less than $20.00 and it is 12V/24V 80 watts. I looked around and found a Dell laptop docking station power supply that is 19V and putts out 88 watts. I'll reply back and let you know how it goes. Dan
