I found a "decosonic" AF-209 Turbo Oven at a thrift store for $30. It appears to be a Galloping Gourmet clone with the older style heating element (not halogen) 1200 watt with temp dial maxing out at 482 F. Just wondering if the halogen heaters respond quicker for temp control? Also if I might have trouble finding replacement burner element for the GG style oven. Just getting started with roasting and will probably pair it with a Stir Crazy at first - maybe add a better motor. Thanks - Sam

Response is mainly handled by the quality of the thermostat that's fitted to the TO However in general terms a solid element usually lasts longer than a halogen mainly due to how it's constructed KK I home roast and I like it. Designer of the KKTO
