Thanks for the addition to the group. Seriously considering building a drum roaster along the lines of oldgrumpus's. Love the design and craftsmanship.

DIY DRUM from Stove-top Popcorn Popper Saves $$$HUNDREDS$$$

My recent posts on Reddit explain my process very thoroughly that has evolved over the past few years. I did my best to keep everything super simple & cost effective. I'm not a handy man w/ a shop full of tools, so anyone should be able to do something similar. Essentially, buy green coffee beans from BodhiLeaf that is <$5/lb, to enable you to roast 52lbs/year (1lb/week) for under $300/yr. When compared to Costco's mass quantities of Dunkin Donuts ground coffee bags, you'd be spending close to $400/year for that commercial grade coffee. Take it further by using the cold brew method to save time during your work-days where your morning routine is precious & already stressful. This DIY drum has successfully roasted up to 2lbs/roast in ~30 minutes total time start-finish. I'm not a pro, but that gave me great coffee for 2 weeks at a very small time & dollar cost. Any thoughts?
