Probably how most people started...

Hi everyone,
New to the forum here. I started roasting with a simple popcorn popper 2-3 years ago, and it served us well. Very simple, basic, only made a mod for cooling. It was a cheapie we got on a special for about $14, blows air in from underneath. Not ideal but it worked for small batches. That's where it started getting a bit much - roasting 6 batches to have coffee for 2 weeks, and that's where I decided it's time to build my own - will post about that in the appropriate part of the forum. It was at that point that I started reading up a lot, looking at commercial roasters, studying the shortcomings and eventually deciding to do it cheaper!
