Coated steel

1/4 Pounder Posts: 75 Joined: November 26, 2018	So I have an above ground pool I just dismantled and found out the walls are made of coated steel. Can this be used as the shell of a drum roaster? I have a stainless drum for it but am looking to see if I can reuse what I have. The outside of the walls have a little rust showing so that would need to be ground down and maybe high heat painted to finish. Thoughts?

Administrator Posts: 3650 Joined: February 23, 2010	I would stay clear of any coated metals unless you have an SDS sheet showing it's good to well over 500 F and no chance of nasty off gassing. 1/2 lb and 1 lb drum, Siemens Sirocco fluidbed, presspot, chemex, cajun biggin brewer from the backwoods of Louisiana

Didn't read close enough to see shell instead of drum.
