Hey folks. I'm hoping to get some help on the RAF-1 Extreme mod that ceil-007 described in this thread https://forum.homeroasters.org/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=3236&rowstart=40 I got everything working last night, and started doing roasts today. The thing that I'm finding is that turning on my fan to level 1 of 10 causes the ET probe to immediately start dropping. In order to not kill a roast, I have to turn the fan on and off every 15-30 seconds in order to keep the ET up once I've gone past FC. Is this typical for other folks using this mod? Thanks! |

Hi: I am the current owner of Fern's RAF-1 Extreme. One thing to keep in mind is that Fern tested a lot of tubing sizes/locations/angles before he settled on his choices. Be sure to read that thread further to see how the RAF-1 changes fan inputs (No fan at all until just before first crack), and how venting the plenum box is used instead of the fan to move air through the roaster: https://forum.hom...post_50706 Good luck! |
