Induction Heating Element

1 1/2 Pounder Posts: 634 Joined: April 13, 2012	Someone gave us an induction hot plate that we didn't need so I scrapped it for parts like any good DIYer! I pulled an 18v fan, some sheets of mica, and a 1800w 120v heating element. What can I do with this heating element? Is there anything special about it or anything in particular I should know/be aware of?

Administrator Posts: 2666 Joined: September 30, 2016	Check Bullet R1 roaster teardown/build articles, it is done using induction heating directly on drum. Obviously drum have to be made from a steel with magnetic properties And the heating element, which is a coil, have to be bended/molded, to match the drum curvature, as is in Bullet R1. ... ... PS: Now, this time, you could have here the seeds of a wonderful project, much more exciting than the ceramic band heaters on FB
