2kg Drum Roaster Build

Newbie Posts: 13 Joined: July 06, 2020	Here're are some photos of a 2kg drum roaster I built last year. Quick Specs: -Single blower for cooling bin and roaster air -60rpm drum speed (going to change the gearing to up that to the 64-68rpm range) -Manual air flow damper to control roaster air (coupled with a Dwyer Magnehelic) -10"OD x 12" Long drum (.120/3mm drum thickness) -(2) 2 mm thermocouples hooked up to TMD Amprobe + Artisan Not much else to say about the build. The next one is going to have a thicker drum and I will work on truing up the front so the gap to the front faceplate is more even....but that'll wait for a while until I have the time. Posting photos: I find that scaling the size of the images down to 800X600 for web viewing sometimes work better (I know it says max filesize 10MB). Try to keep the filenames simple. Pretty much the only metal part aside from the drum I didn't shape. That said it was a seller on eBay and I they've been out of stock for a few months now. They do have one with a a smaller opening that could maybe be modified. I'll find the link today. Next time I'll likely try to make a hopper if that seller is still out of stock. I had a tube burner setup of made and played around with making orifices and dialed it all in.... Then it was really under powered for what I needed. I ended up ordering a big 10" round burner which works well. I tried to attach the photos from my phone of the tube burner options. If they didn't attach, I'll add them from the computer tomorrow. If/when I build another, I may make my own custom burner.
