Hairdryer heating element
Gullygossner
I notice there are a number of fluid bed builds that people use the heating element from a heat gun.

I pulled apart a hairdryer/blow dryer that I salvaged and the heating element doesn't look much different aside from maybe the inline thermostat.

Has anyone modified this type of element for a build?

The coils are typically 1500w to 1600w nichrome. They look nearly identical to a heat gun heating element and are quite ubiquitous at thrift stores so I figured they would make for a good donor. I just never see people mention using them, so I was wondering if there was something inherently different that made them a poor choice.
