I have a questions.. im trying to experiment with riasting.. i roasted 3 cup of nicaraguan at 200 degrees for 1 hr and 30 min.. is that to long?

Hello everybody. I am a home based roaster based out of Cumming, Ga. I have been roasting bean for about 15 years. Started on stove top and a ladle. I then moved to a Nesco. From there i went to heat gun bread maker. I recently purchased an RK drum 12 lber. I love this drum roaster. I am having issues with cooling the beans and getting rid of chaff. That is why I joined this forum. Thanks for adding me.

Re - Cooler
Cooling for home roasting setups is normally achieved with a seperate bean cooler
It requires you to remove the drum and empty the beans into the cooler
We have lots of DIY designs on the forum

Re Chaff
Drum roasters by design will naturally drop chaff through the holes during the roasting process

I need more detailed information as to the actual problem to advise
