Roaster Control Wiring
Timberline
I am new on here and have been enjoying reading the many discussions on home built roasters. I do have a question related to wiring the controls on my roaster.
My current control setup is a tc4+ and a set of manual controls. The manual controls are on a completely different circuit and I have to switch between Manual operation or Computer operation.
I have seen pictures of roasters where the manual controls are tied into the system and the LCD screen displays the set values of the fan/heater even when they are running the roaster in completely manual mode.
Could someone describe to me how I would do this on my set up? Is it even possible on a tc4+?
I attached pictures of my roaster. Thanks ~ Ivan

You need to add the virtual device ArduinoTC4 56 in extra devices dialog, see attached image.
The meaning is to decode the 5th/6th values from TC4 data packet, as HTR/FAN values, and display/graph them in Artisan.

So would that allow me to run manual controls without my computer? What I want is to have a knob on my panel that can control my heater/fan and still have the LCD reading the set value. If that makes sense.

If the knob is connected to TC4+, which drives the heater SSR, then yes.
If your heating control is a stand alone dimmer, not related to TC4+, then no.
