Hi All - I am looking for a roaster that I can have it indoors and roast in the kitchen without triggering smoke alarm. Did anyone come across any? Thanks! |

There was a Nesco many years ago, out of production for long time, who claim this feature, even if mine still smell. Smell, not smoke, no idea if enough to trigger alarm... Small batches, like 100 grams, roasted under a powerful stove hood, should not trigger the alarm, smoke is less than some cooking styles, like wok. The above is true if not roasting until beans became oily. Burnt oils are those who smoke a lot. |

Thanks for the response. Yes, smaller batches and light roast would be good, but I would like to roast like 225 grams for my weekly pourer and not repeat roasting, so I was wondering if there is any product fits this need or it is just me who want these types of features Definitely not roasting dark and oily. Nothing beyond end of first crack |

I found that stovetop popcorn poppers work well since they don’t produce too much smoke. There are also some electric roasters that are specifically designed for low smoke levels. |
