1/4 Pounder Posts: 98 Joined: August 02, 2018	My SR500 is going on the blink. I want to buy one if you have one you'd like to get rid of. The 'timer' button won't work if you know how to fix that let me know. It's bad luck to be superstitious

Administrator Posts: 3010 Joined: September 30, 2016	In these roasters the buttons are of different type as in the link above. The switch is a replaceable assembly, it's a soldering job. The only challenge is to find the right button height, they are a lot of sizes, check attached. ~~~ renatoa attached the following image:

If you have some old mice around you might be able to steal a good micro switch from it to use (if the right height and type). Now if the plastic membrane is broken any height switch will get you running. Gives you a chance to practice your soldering skills. Some pictures should help?

1/2 Pounder Posts: 341 Joined: July 20, 2022	Yes for a micro switch the thin metal plate fail and stay collapsed, at least the ones I have seen. Now if it's a membrane switch they fail with a break in the trace or by turning the contacts to powder if this has that type of switch?

But that doesn't matter as I can just tooth-pick the thing to push up the 'timer'. Wish I could just turn the stupid timer off I'm smart enough not to burn down the house LOL. I assume all amperage and voltage on all of these are the same - the wife asks about that. It's bad luck to be superstitious

Newbie Posts: 10 Joined: January 22, 2024	The amps and volts probably aren't the same, but that switch is only signaling the board, the current is miniscule.
