Obviously I know profiles are specific to roasters, beans, environmental temperature, humidity, moon phase, if mercury is in retrograde and sometimes just the mood of the roasting pixies.

That being said, I'm looking for general feedback on my base profile I've used for a couple few years now. For context, I roast exclusively for espresso and really am not in to the new wave light roast. I'm more a FC to FC+ range never deep into second crack, maybe let it roll for 30 seconds for a darker roast once it's totally going.

Essentially I use a single profile for everything just adjusting the dump at the end for my desired roast level. The reason for this is twofold. First, I don't have the time to play around with 35 different profiles - I barely have time to post this smile Second, I like to try all different beans so I buy SO in 2# bags so it's one roast per bean and my blend (Espresso Monkey) stays the same but obviously the blend is constantly changing.

I roast off of ROR and temperature points so the temperatures at a given time are there for me as targets - ROR is changed based on temp not time. For low grown or less dense beans I will lower the ROR during drying and extend it a little so I don't give the poor weak beanies too much of a punch.

Typical first crack is going at 390f and early snaps of second around 422f

At any rate, I know there have been changes in roast profile thoughts over the years and frankly have been off the forums due to time constraints for quite a while and though I would pop in and see what the group had to say! Thanks all roar

It’s been a while since we’ve done the swap most likely due to not getting the message out early enough. If there’s interest in doing it then let’s get feedback on it.
Can you put a post together announcing it when we get a little closer to the season?
