Doesn't appear that the NorthEast US is home to a lot of social people. Just leave us alone to do our thing. My employer decided it was time for me to retire in 2023. So I had time to roll about the US and Canada. And to start a few new hobbies. I purchased an SR800 and many green bean samples packs from Coffee Bean Corral(CBC). While riding my motorcycle around the country I stopped at CBC and was treated extremely well. So it will be hard for me to change sources. They do offer free shipping on orders larger than I can consume. Perhaps our New England frugality can overcome our anti-social nature? As of this posting I'm fairly well stocked up on green beans. So unlikely to order again until Spring or Early Summer 2025. I've dialed in on Central American for the bean taste that I like. Mostly roasting the cheaper sources from Costa Rica and Mexico. Aside from drinking coffee and adventure motorcycling I have a few other interests. Camping, bushcraft, software developement, mapping, computer graphics, LED lighting and small electronics (ESP32). Soon we'll all be hibernating for the winter. For me that means coding and ESP32 projects. But next riding season I would be interested in visiting other like minded roasters for a mug of their favorite coffee. Edited by NHRedAnt on 11/14/2024 4:18 PM |

Big welcome to HRO! Sounds like you will be plenty busy during your retirement part of life! With your interest in microcontrollers, you are in good company here as we've got lots of very clever electronics geeks that have come up with great ways to control their roasters. Please jump in with your expertise with helping members with their various control questions. Cheers! 1/2 lb and 1 lb drum, Siemens Sirocco fluidbed, presspot, chemex, cajun biggin brewer from the backwoods of Louisiana
