I’ve had some experience now with this TO and have done some great decaf roasts. So good that I have some weekly returning customers. I am not planning to make a business out of this but 2 or 3 people for ½ lb. weekly would give me a good green bean flow. So, you probably guessed it already I am going to make two TO-V2's. One for myself and one I will sell to cut my cost. There were a few things that I did not like and could have done better but that happens with me with working in the unknown, I am used to that lol. The V2 version will be simplified, lower cost, easy to clean and larger capacity. In time I will post the tread, not phase by phase but more the end product as posting and editing took a lot of my time the last post. See you soon! Never delay what you can do today....

My final thoughts about my TO.v2 roaster build. I’ve done about 10 roasts now, I can manage and direct it as I want although I have to do it manually, but I knew that when I started. The temperatures in the graph are rather high but that is because the temperature sensor is not in the beans but it is rather high in the roast pan, under, sideways of the heating element. I set the temperature manually with the dial of the TO (orange in the graph) and read out the temperature of the sensor in the air. (seen in blue) I guess the real bean temp. is about 70-90F lower. But the good thing is, that despite the high shown temperatures, the result is always the same, FC is always around the same temperature. I let the TO run exactly 3 minutes after I hear the 4th crack. The result is always the same, see image. These are West-Colombia, DECAF, sugarcane treated green beans, it was a 400 grams roast, 15% weight loss. ![]() ![]() Edited by Billy Bean on 02/28/2025 2:08 PM Never delay what you can do today....
