These directions will get you through disassembling your GC. The two sensors are shown at each end.

The sensor at the heater end provides the temperature that shows on the temp display. The other sensor is the safety overheat shutdown.

I have no idea how to splice into either of these, but perhaps running a probe into heater next to the other sensor may work for you.

Keep in mind this is only giving you a reasonable idea of what the drum temp is. With that in mind, you could accurately record the numbers yourself, if that's all you need.
