In addition to coffee and wine, one of my other passions is smoking meat. I often have some fire left in my smoker after cooking the protein du jour, so one day, I took some of my freshly roasted four-bean blend, spread it in a single layer on a pan and threw it in the smoker for an hour or so with some fresh cherry chips. The temp probably got up to around 200 F or so during this time. The final result does not taste smoky like meat tastes smoky, but rather, the flavor of the coffee is enhanced and complemented. I really like it. I have done this probably three or four times and the results are pretty consistent and enjoyable. I just thought I?d pass this idea along since I did not see it mentioned anywhere in the other forums.
