Hello All, The recent swap was loads of fun, and a great learning experience. If you'd like to participate in this next one...stay tuned! Coffee to be determined soon, Thank You Ginny. We'll get beans out...experiment and exchange insights for a bit, then plan on swapping toward the end of November. It seems that Randys cupping form worked great. We can add 'acidity' for the second flavor catagory and move on. Those with more experience; Please add your insights here. Thanks, -Scott |

I will sit this one out to let some new faces in. If there are less than 8 who sign up, then I'm in! (Any more than 8 is too many for a cupping in my opinion.) CHAD Edited by seedlings on 09/27/2010 8:06 PM Roaster: CoffeeAir II 2# DIY air roaster

I have to sit this one out too. It was great fun and nice to see how everyone's coffee compares but I've got lots of projects to get done and so little time! I might try to get in on the next after this. Allen 1/2 lb and 1 lb drum, Siemens Sirocco fluidbed, presspot, chemex, cajun biggin brewer from the backwoods of Louisiana

I'm on the sidelines as well. End of November being the beginning of the Holidays, I'll be out for a while. Have FUN! Respect the bean.

Holiday season is a bad time to throw something else onto and already overloaded schedule.

Let's get an idea if people would prefer to accelerate or delay past the Holidays. Either way is fine w/ me. Scott |

I may throw my hat into the ring, depending on my travel schedule. But everyone has to promise to be gentle. Actually, I have learned tons from the folks here, and this will be a great learning experience. And as they say, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." Jimbo |

You're right on track. At the end of it, my score was not so important. Having sampled other peoples coffee, and seeing how they got there...that was the experience. .....In the ring you go!!! Scott |

I am very interested, though a bit nervous, as I have never even done a cupping yet. But if there is room, sure I will jump in.

I'll count you in. The profiling really adds alot to the learning. This last swap was my first cupping...no worries. When the cups start cooling, it will all make sense. Welcome aboard!! -Scott |

Has the coffee been selected for this next roast comparison? Being quite new to the craft, I would really like to see how other's roasts compare to mine as well as get more feedback on mine. |

....And then there were 6. Due to unexpected events, Ginny will be side-tracked for a bit. Those that are still in the game; I have a WP Dominican, or an FTO Sumatran that we can work with. If anyone has a bean they'd like to work with instead, throw it in the ring. Considering the date, we should move quick or reschedule. I still need people to confirm by PM with a shipping address. I've got 2 already. I'll set a drop-dead for the 22nd. If we confirm 5, I'll continue, if not, we'll kick one off after the holidays instead. Cheers -Scott |
