On a KKTO roaster What material did you use for the insulation? Edited by Koffee Kosmo on 03/06/2013 1:59 AM |

I use a ceramic type insulation This is similar to the type that is used in kilns ect However any insulation that exceeds the heat that the roaster produces should be OK KK I home roast and I like it. Designer of the KKTO

A buddy of mine has a welding blanket he would give to me for some coffee. I know its not insulation but the heat rating would be acceptable.... |

That will work fine Just remember to look at the drawings I have uploaded on the main thread as to position ect All the info to build this type roaster has been covered in great detail It's important to follow the roast chamber volume recommendations for best results I home roast and I like it. Quote Quote I do not see any insulation in this pictures of roaster. coffee queen Depends on the version one is building ? However both versions - The KKTO V1 is insulated under the false floor & externally for best results The KKTO V2 is insulated in a similar manner but has a manufactured liner and has an air gap on the sides so it works like double glazing KK I home roast and I like it.
