I went through the same thing with my Turbo crazy. I could never find an exact fit motor that had more power. I then altered the stir crazy case and added a motor in a box mounted below. I rigged a 1/4 inch socket extension from the motor to the arms. Used it for a while then went with a KKTO style roaster. ---Jack

I have most of the parts to start making my KKTO, just needing the false bottom and insulation. I have a wiper motor, so there will be no trouble there. |

That is about what I was seeing too. The motor is wimpy and reverses. I found that the beans would sometimes get stuck under the arms and cause the motor to stop. I bought a surplus gear motor for my KKTO and it now has plenty of power. The wiper motors work well too. ---Jack

Looks like we have another KKTO in the early build stage Well I can tell you that the design has stood the test of time and there are many satisfied owners So get to building Tony False floor is easy to make - you can even source an alloy pizza tray and cut to size So if you want help - just ask the questions we are here for you KK I home roast and I like it. Yes, building will start soon. The pizza tray idea sounds good. Is there an insulation available at Home Depot or Lowes that can be used? I am just a little bummed out on the Stir Crazy motor being weak. It's a cool little roaster, and I have been closing in on getting it how I want it. And I'm still getting some great coffee on every roast, even with the problems I have been overcoming. |

You should find it easy to source insulation Just make sure it's rated to handle the max heat from the turbo oven plus another third to be certain KK I home roast and I like it. Designer of the KKTO
