-- I would like to have the ability to place photos that are uploaded with the text/description in the body of the post.

Currently the uploaded photos all appear at the bottom of the post in random order. I am not sure if this is possible with the current PHP software.

-- Also the ability to block quotes when the post you are quoting to is directly above yours. It makes a big mess and the thread becomes unreadable and hard to follow. If the quote also includes photos, then it can slow down the site.

I would like to upload photos from my iPad
They have an unusual file name - eg fakepath

So if that can be accommodated that would be great

Every photo I post has that same file name.

I think any jpg posted will read 'fakepath'. So I don' understand what the I-product has to do with it?
No oil on my beans...

True, as my photos are always jpg, and whether I post from my iPhone, iPad, or my Windows based laptop I get the same file name.

so far nothing has helped this, we cannot as far as I know block those quotes we only take our time to dump them, but it is common sense not to quote the post if it is what you are responding to but...

I posted a photo called Homeroasters.jpg and attached it.

I have not heard of this problem with fakepath.

fakefile name comes up when you are not following protocol for photos, spaces in name, odd characters and that type of thing.

I always assumed that it was because of the file size...I will send the photo I want to post in an email to myself. right after you hit the send button (on an 'i' device mind you) you will have the option of what size file you would like to send. I pick whatever size is close to the 268 file size required by this site. I am going to try posting from my iPad now to see if it works..I think I usually use my desktop (also a mac)

ETA: it worked from my iPad Pro..not sure if the Pro had anything to do with it..I think it has to do with the file size... Tony_C... Try posting a photo by reducing the file size as explained above...we will see if it works, not sure which iPad you have....

The anvil pic is from my laptop, the csm is from my iPad and I do think it originally had the 'fakepath' oh, gee....I guess it is back to the iPad...sigh...

Yes, the previous post with the csm & the anvil, the csm photo was posted with my iPad, the avil photo was posted with my laptop (Windows, blech...), the csm photo does indeed say, "fakepath" until after it is posted, then that prefix disappears and leaves behind the actual file name...I say it is a file size issue, unless only the iPads that are more recent are able to post photos?

I tried posting a screen shot along with the csm photo, because the screen shot was too large, it threw them both out...the screen shot is 2.2 mb off my iPad Pro...way too big by the standards set on HR's...

having members trim posts, not add extra stuff like quotes that are not necessary is a dead end on most forums.

we have gotten to the point where we simply dump the quotes and leave it at that though soon we will dump the posts.

it takes up half a page to quote, quote and quote the post right above you...

it makes no sense, we have written about it, nothing has worked thus far.

the idea of blocking a quote if you are quoting the post above you is a great one but I do not think practical or do-able.

we will see.

if nothing else perhaps the offenders will read this thread and it will click...

I just realized that the "fake file" only shows after I select a photo. Example: C:\fakepath\Organic Ethiopian Natural Yirga 3 BANKO DHADHATO - FAIR TRADE.JPG

After posting, it shows the actual file name, but does have underscores where the spaces are.

This photo must be smaller in size - so I believe that the file size allocation needs to be larger
