Auto URL conversion?

what are you speaking of here please... explain

ginny

My guess is the "clickable" url conversion? Just a guess while we are waiting for the real reply, lol! limb

Automatic URL conversion. When you type a link like http://www.example.com.

The add on or extension sees it and converts it to a clickable link automatically.

I don't know if the newer version of PHP can do this. There might be an add on or extension available.

I like Jacks idea and had it in the back of my mind
But I would extend that out to other auto conversion links
For example - videos and photos

As JackH said ...

On some forums, if you put a url like http://blah... in a message, then the forum software will automatically put [ url] tags around the url when the message is posted.

vBulletin does this (or has an add-on that does), as does phpBB. I did a quick search for PHP-Fusion but only found a dead add-on for v6 https://www.php-f...d_id=17685- but I am totally clueless when it comes to PHP-Fusion.

It seems like a lot of trouble when a couple of mouse clicks does the job.

When you copy your link, it is already stored in the computer's clipboard and can be simply pasted after clicking the "make link live button" at the bottom of the edit screen. Two mouse clicks.

so all know I have zero intent on changing forum software...

if there is no add-on, it is EASY to make a link live.

I never understand why a simple thing is so difficult for intelligent people.

I searched high and low over many days for smileys that were not simple yellow round faces...

a few of them were being used for other things and I made smileys out of them...

we have a couple I want to replace but never the DINO...

I believe the fakepath mystery is caused by Javascript manipulation. Nothing to worry about, it's no indication of file failure. Although your file may still break site rules, this fakepath doesn't suggest that it did. In geek terms, it's due to HTML5 and Javascript manipulation the DOM.

As far as mobile compatability, if the upgrade is for the newer version of PHP-Fusion, then it should accommodate that as well.

Happy roasting =)

ginny
thanks K...

appreciate it, only an on and off thing and I think it also has to do with using correct image protocol...

agree here too

I did manage to upload a photo from the iPad
And I noted it was a small file size

All other other photos are larger and won't upload
So we need to increase the file size allocation for photo uploads

We also need to be able to quote another post from the larger post reply area

Currently we can only quote from the main thread

With mobile devices - I can't tell what image size they are ?

Testing photo size upload

Some work some don't Ginny
Please increase - probably needs doubling the current limit ?

When you press POST REPLY button - ( to the right of NEW THREAD ) under the last post

Or PREVIEW REPLY
This opens the full reply box including uploading images ect

Now if you scroll down you will see at least 3 previous posts
On other forums they have a quote link on the top the right hand corner of every post

On HRO this option is missing

Copy and paste will work
However it won't have the ID tag of the Original Poster in bold

One other anomaly is -
When one starts to write a post and decide to add a quote midway through
The writing is lost - unless you copy / cut the text and re-insert it.
