Modifying Popper DC Motor
gfavaro
Hi Guys! I am new here, but I have been reading the forum topics for a while.

I have a popper with DC motor and what I learned here were:
- You can't control DC motor with TC4.
- The heating circuit is joined with fan circuit. Changing one, you change the voltage of the other one.

My questions after searching for information are:
- Is there some post step by step explaining how to control the heater/fan for a DC motor?
- What is the best option to supply the fan? Transformer?
- Change the motor for an AC motor and use TC4 is an option?
- Where can I buy TC4?
- Why it is needed 4 channels analog-to-digital?

Sorry for many questions, but I didn't find the answers straight away.
PS.: sorry, the English is my second language

Which popper do you have?

Check the series of posts I did on modifying a Presto PopLite popper. That will contain the information on how I did it. Also, I did a video on YouTube that might be helpful. The link to that is also in this series of posts, but you can probably find it on YouTube by searching for something like "ChicagoJohn PopLite Modification for Coffee Roasting"

Edit: Here is the link -- https://youtu.be/...

The threads with block wiring diagram, parts lists, etc. are located in this forum further down.

Actually, it seems like someone posted a while back that DC motor control has been added to the TC4. Since I don't use a DC motor I didn't really read the details to it but seem like they said there is a way now. Might want to do a search and see.
