240v 30a FB Roaster
CharcoalRoaster
I've been successfully roasting on a 500g FB Roaster for a while now (couple of years). It reclaims heat in a closed system with a cyclone chaff collector.

Pretty simple -- vac motor, bakearound, heat element, variac controller. Part of the reason for a 500g build was due to power limitations in my garage (15a, 115v circuits)

However, I's really like to increase capacity of my roasts to 1-2kg+ by going 240v although I don't know what the max capacity is/could be. I will be adding a 240v 30a breaker/receptacle in my garage to accommodate some homebrew equipment as well.

Collecting parts so far I've got another bakearound, a stripped down old OT15 Bunn brewer (water tank would make a great SS roast chamber (maybe?), a 240v dryer element (https://www.ebay....), and am looking to upgrade my vac motor to one of these potentially (https://www.ebay.... or https://www.ebay....)

Will either of those motors work? Anyone have a 240v FB build that could offer some insight on potential capacity and/or pitfalls?

Depends a lot on your elements and airflow. If you use porcupine elements like this: https://www.instagram.com/p/BoBRdimhkhM/ you should be able to get close to 10#
