Hottop probe probes reading difference

I just did the upgrade on my hottop, and strangely if i run the roaster empty, the two probes wich are less than two inches apart show a 50f difference!!!!. I would have understand with the roaster loaded, but empty should?nt they show about the same temp or just a few degree difference because of their location. Rob |

Maybe they are different types, K and J, and software isn't set accordingly. The offset value suggest this behaviour, the voltage output a J-type TC at 150 is very very close to K-type TC at 200, in the 8 mV ballpark. |

Hottop specification mention that this is a dual k thermocouple model so that should?nt be the problem. |
