Hi Everyone, I am new to the forum and am looking for some help on building a fluidbed roaster. My question is regarding the best way to create a mount for the Bake A Round tube. I have seem some using long threaded rods secured with nuts and two flat metal plates to hold it all together. and others using a martini shaker upside down with what looks to be high temperature silicone as a gasket. Essentially I am looking to see if there are any off the shelf parts that would allow for a secure mount and any other feedback on a simple way to execute this. I have looked through all of the threads and have not seen anyone address the assembly directly. EDIT: I am planning on using a Harbor Freight aluminum body heatgun with an extension tube to connect to the Bake Around. I will be attaching a shop vac to the air intake similar to the build on here with the exhaust splitter and two of the same heat guns. I have everything else in the build figured out, I am just looking for help with a simple housing that doesn't require complicated fabrication or tools for pyrex tube housing and that will be secure and account for expansion of the tube/mounting materials. Thanks in Advance! Edited by AronoSarius on 11/01/2019 1:37 PM |

https://forum.hom...ad_id=5505 Literally the first thread I clicked on... haha. Looks like they use a v-flange and silicone around the tube. Link for the v-flange https://www.amazo...&psc=1 3" looks like It has an OD of 3.125" I think the ID of the bake-a-round is something like 3.25. Looks like about that gap in the pics in the thread I linked. Also to be honest, you could do a lot with a drill, a hacksaw a sheet of thin stainless and some all-thread for the sandwich method. I would definitely not place that in the "complicated fabrication" category. Tools and materials could be had for under $100. (Walmart corded drill) |

I used stove gasket rope and high temp RTV copper silicone to secure a metal funnel to the bottom of my bakearound as well as the same silicone to seat the perf plate into the funnel. After at least a hundred roasts if not more like 2-300 no warps, cracks, visible ware on the silicone, funnel, or pyrex. |
