Nut Roaster Device
Ploni
Can anyone comment with experience on the device seen in this YouTube video?

Can anyone recommend a comparable, inexpensive motor available on aliexpress.com?

Do you want to roast nuts or coffee

You can do both if you build a Turbo oven roaster

KK is right, TO is the simplest and righteous way to approach this hobby.

"nuts or coffee"

Ha-ha

Every device promoted on this site demands many (unreliable) electronic parts and advanced fabrication tools and/or skills.

For what? And how long will the finished contraption last?

My DIY roaster has not failed once since 2008
Thousands of roasts for myself and others have been completed

Design for longevity is key

Ploni is upset after a deceiving popcorn machine transforming, failed due to a defective power source, and costs that raised too much for his pocket. Other's wallet size may vary.
And frankly, sad to say it, serious lack of skills.
This is the main thing to consider for anyone approaching a roaster build.
Regarding parts supply, was amazed how poor in resources looks his location, that seems very advanced technological when seen from outside...

Yes I agree
If one’s skill set is lacking - Ask a mechanically minded friend for help
Or

Save up to purchase a roaster that is available in stores or something second hand

A Behmor comes to mind

Motor, chain and sprockets from Razor E175 electric scooter

I would search if someone sell Whirley-Pop in Israel, the full stainless steel version, not aluminium body, not plastic gears.
An electric screwdriver can be the next step.
A thermometer is optional, the readings in such setup will be very approximate and less useful.

Had a bit of a think
For the torque you require in that set up you can use a window winder motor
Should be easy to find one at the wreckers

A reminder that the name of this board is homeroasters.com not electronicmechanicalhobbyists.com.

If you reread my original thread, renatoa, I conveyed my ignorance about electronics at the onset and accepted your mentorship as you actively recruited my participation in the project.

Now here when I uploaded an interesting video and inquired about the community's opinion, I was met with a really snotty retort and then insults.

Enjoy.
